Onething we've learned at the Internet Marketers Money Making Machine is before you decide to jump and start to spend money and invest your time on an internet business, you need to stop and stock of yourself, your situation, why you are jumping into an online business. Or an offline business for that matter. Trust me, take the time to do this step first and you will save yourself a lot of grief. You must really examine your life, motivation, your surroundings, your support, and your other commitments. What is your financial situation and commitments. What are your real interests and hobbies? What is your backround? What are your time rquirements and time sinks? Failure to do this step properly and you will waste a lot of time and money and go nowhere. Do it correctly and you'll have a better chance of success based on realism. First off, this is a business. If you are going to run a business, it takes time. Never mind the lies about auto-pilot, and a couple of nights a week for an hour. Remember you reap what you sow. No more and no less. So lets stop and look at your time requirements. Open up a spreadsheet or get a piece of paper and write down the seven days of the week. And it doesn't matter which one is first. Whatever makes sense to you. And on the left hand side start putting in the hours of the day 01:00 to 24:00. Simple so far right. But if you won't do even this simple stop now, save your money, and don't get into an MLM or other internet business. I once heard a motivational speaker say"Show me what a person does with his time and money and I'll show what they are truly interested in." So lets find out what you are truly in by going through these simple exercises. Now simply write in all of the things that you do every day of the week. Sleep, grooming, making breakfast, getting the kids to school, walking the dog, laundry, cleaning, going to work, coming home from work, picking up the kids, shopping, making dinner, watching TV, whatever, And put it all down. Don't cheat at not putting down talking on the phone, visiting a girl friend, working out, taking a nap. Now take a magic marker or paint tool and color in all of the must do this in the week. Then color blue in all of the things that are discetionary such as watching TV, going to a football game, visiting mom. Then identify and absolutely free time in green. You need to be careful here because unless you have your spouses agreement and buy in, watching the kids do every little thing may not be optional time. Or your are going to watch football every Saturday, Sunday, and Monday night come hell of high water. The purpose of all of this is to find out how much free time you actually have to work at setting up a business, how much time you have to market it, recruit people, do paperwork, sell products, SELL???? I have to do that? Your true time available is the green and blue time. That's it. If you don't have at least 12 hours a week to work on a second buisness, forget it. And remember 12 hours will take you a lot longer to be successful. Maybe you are better off not going down this route until other things in your life are sorted out. Let's face it, the electronic income reducer (television) consumes almost 1/4 of everyone's day. Who would have ever imagined that a free people would voluntarily submit themselves to self prisonment? Or maybe you work two jobs. Have three kids and a dog. Coach soccer or basketball. What can you give up? What really is more important to you? Will you have the strength and energy for the long haul and constant disappointment, rejection to carry on to be successful.
